This article discusses a modern rap/pop song on YouTube by Duck Creator that addresses the wildfire disaster in Los Angeles, California. This study seeks to uncover the meanings behind the words used in the song lyrics through a stylistic approach. The data were collected using listening, reading, and note-taking techniques, while the analysis was conducted using Qalyubi’s stylistic framework and Greg Garrard’s ecocritical perspective. The findings reveal that, stylistically, at the mustawā ṣawtī (phonological level), the song employs rhythmic rhyme characterised by repetition, alliteration, and assonance. It also contains a variety of figurative language, including metaphor, personification, and linguistic contrast, which are rich in visual imagery at the mustawā taṣwīrī (imagistic level), depicting the major fires that struck Los Angeles and linking them to issues of global justice, particularly the suffering of Gaza. From an ecocritical perspective, the lyrics portray natural disasters as moral agents (wilderness), using personification to humanise nature as an agent of cosmic justice. Apocalyptic tropes are highly dominant in the song, functioning as symbols of warning. Furthermore, a critique of dwelling emerges, highlighting global conflicts driven by the egos of political leaders that result in ecological destruction affecting animal agents, pastoral spaces, and even the earth itself. The song functions both as an ecological protest and as a prayer for the realisation of universal justice. It integrates environmental awareness, social criticism, and spiritual dimensions, thereby constituting a work that is politically and ethically powerful.
